North London/Herts

The Elecchicks, a female duo of electricians, are looking for an extra pair of hands to help them out 2/3 days a week with the view to becoming a full-time position.

Ideally the candidate will have at t least a couple of years’ experience and would need their own transport and tools. They would also need to be on the CIS scheme.

Elecchicks are based in Elstree and cover north London/Herts.

Female Apprentices Needed

Barlows – a specialist contractor based in Malpas, Cheshire and Chadderton, Greater Manchester, is on the lookout for its next group of Apprentices – and is actively seeking applications from young females.

The firm is set to take on up to 16 apprentices this year and is looking for 16-17 year olds interested in becoming an electrician to get in touch right away.

Barlows can offer a full-three year apprenticeship covering all aspects of electrical work, that will give all those who complete the course a level 3 qualification.

Louise (Lou) Farr is a newly qualified domestic electrical installer having made a recent career change from her previous career where she spent over 30 years as a Supply Chain and Logistics manager.

She has the following qualifications.

• City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the requirements for electrical installations (2382-12) (17th Edition)
• City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate 2377-12 for the Inspection and Testing of electrical equipment.
• EAL Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers
• Emergency First Aid Course (P.D.Medical Training Services)

She is looking looking for work experience and eventually a full time job working alongside experienced electricians where she can grow and give something back to the company and individuals that provide her with the chance to put her new found knowledge and skills to work.

North Devon/East Cornwall

Female trainee Ziggi Baker is looking for on-site experience with an electrical contractor in the North Devon/East Cornwall area. Ziggi has worked with a fully qualified electrician on several jobs over the past year and has recently passed her 2330 City and Guilds exams.

She has experience working on site doing a variety of domestic installations including power circuits, fire alarms, data cabling, and co-axial cabling. She is looking to find a work placement of at least 3 days a week where she will be able to develop her skills and knowledge and eventually complete her NVQ.

Ziggi has a BA (Hons) Degree, and is currently doing small electrical projects for friends and family.
